The Turnitin Family Expands

Oakland, Calif.
Chris Caren
Chris Caren
Turnitin CEO

As the academic integrity landscape evolves, we are committed to supporting our university and school partners around the globe in their efforts to uphold the integrity of their institutions.

We do that—in part—by developing new solutions to emerging challenges and by expanding and enhancing our technology. To further these advancements, I am pleased to announce that Turnitin has acquired Unicheck.

Unicheck develops smart technology solutions that help institutions promote and uphold academic integrity. I am excited to come together and further invest in our shared goal of rapid innovation.

What does this mean for you? Unicheck will continue as a standalone plagiarism detection solution for schools and universities globally. Unicheck users—both existing and new—can expect the same great product and service they have come to rely on from Unicheck. Meanwhile, the union of the two companies means:

  1. Increased Innovation: Turnitin and Unicheck share the same goal of continuous improvement and innovation for educators and administrators. By working together, we will accelerate investment in our technologies to deliver new features and products.
  2. More Choices: Both Turnitin and Unicheck customers now have a broader set of solutions available to them to meet their evolving needs in academic integrity.
  3. Expanded Team: We are excited to welcome the Unicheck leadership team and staff to the Turnitin family. Unicheck CEO Serhii Tkachenko will join Turnitin in a senior role, continuing his deep commitment to the success of his users while also bringing valuable perspective on partnerships and product development.

Together we will keep pace with the evolving landscape and offer next-generation technologies that support educators and students around the globe. Welcome, Unicheck!
